The Cal Tahoe JPA is administered through a Board of Directors that is represented by two members from City Council, two members from Lake Valley Fire, and one member from Fallen Leaf Lake Fire. In addition the Fire Chief of each agency is also involved on the board. The Executive Director of the Cal Tahoe JPA is a person selected by the board and is retained under contract to provide operational oversight of financial operations, contract negotiations and compliance in collaboration with the Fire Chiefs and member agencies. The Executive Director and Fire Chiefs provide updates to the Board through scheduled meetings that are done in accordance with the Brown Act. JPA Board members are appointed by their respective boards.
